Meet the artists

Ina Eksteen

Ina Eksteen, born in Gauteng in 1961, developed a deep love for color and expression through her art, influenced by her father, Pieter Millard (Snr), and the techniques of the old masters like Maggie Loubser, Irma Stern, and Van Gogh.

Starting formal art classes in 1987, she became known for her expressionistic landscapes in the 1990s. Ina has taught art across the East Rand, West Rand, and Pretoria, incorporating her father’s curriculum and her own techniques.

Her work is internationally recognized, and since 2021, she has expanded into pottery alongside her painting. She continues to present workshops and online classes.

Andries Eksteen

Andries Eksteen, born in 1955 in Vryheid, KwaZulu-Natal, developed a love for architectural buildings and Cape Town’s street scenes, influenced by South African artists Gregoire Boonzaaier and Thys Heyns. His recent focus has been capturing the characteristic fishing cottages of Arniston and Struisbaai, where he moved with his wife, Ina, in 2022.

Phillip Britz

Phillip Britz was born on 22 June 1966 in Johannesburg, Gauteng.  After finishing school, he studied under BE Britz and Alda van Biljon.

His loose impressionistic brush strokes can be seen in his fisherfolk landscapes as well as his farm landscapes.
