Meet Koos Bronkhorst: A South African Fine Artist

I’m beyond excited to introduce you to the incredibly talented South African fine artist, Koos Bronkhorst, whose work is on display and available for sale, at my art gallery in Struisbaai, Western Cape.

Koos is not just an artist; he’s a unique and captivating individual, with his feet firmly planted on the earth, creating masterpieces while engaging in deep conversations with people. Picture him with his beret, brush in hand, painting the world around him.

Koos’ love for art started at a young age—he discovered his natural talent for drawing while in primary school. His teacher even noticed his ability early on. Back then, Koos often sketched wildlife, especially kudu antelopes.

Born in Krugersdorp in 1957, Koos now calls Pretoria home, but his love for art continues to thrive through his stunning landscapes and depictions of everyday life.

When it comes to his artistic passion, Koos says: “It’s all about light. Especially in landscapes—whether it’s the clouds, the sea, or the hardworking people in my paintings. Fishermen, for me, are the true embodiment of honest work.”
